Our Leadership

William B. Zipf Jr., P.E., MBA, FRM — CEO & Co-Founder

Will is an energy executive with nearly three decades of experience across power generation, fuels, pipeline development, and commercial structuring — with a career that spans engineering, risk management, private equity, and senior development leadership.

At JERA Americas, he served as Vice President of Development, leading M&A, hybrid redevelopment, and commercial structuring for thermal and LNG assets across major U.S. power markets. Earlier roles included VP at Kindle Energy and Director of Origination at NRG Energy.

James A. Van Laar – President & Co-Founder
Jim is a power industry leader with 35+ years of experience delivering complex engineering and infrastructure programs across thermal, renewable, and emerging energy sectors — from greenfield development through EPC execution and operations.

He founded and scaled a global consulting practice to 80 professionals across 13 offices, directed over $10 billion in capital programs, and has held COO, VP Engineering, and Global Director roles at JERA Americas, KBR, WorleyParsons, Sargent & Lundy, and Pyrolyx USA.
